ROBOPOCALYPSE

I talk lots of shit, I might ever so slightly exaggerate for the sake of storytelling here and there, but I think it’s fairly agreed upon that I’m typically right. (except for choosing girlfriends)

1st world technologically savy countries are building robots for use in future combat. Are we fucking kidding?! Robots to fight in wars?! We can’t even manage to avoid cellphone detonated IEDs in hot zone now or internal bombings etc. Can you imagine the shit we’re going to deal with when combat units go haywire in the next 200 or so years. I’ll fucking guarantee it.

Ok, from what I’ve read the “bigdog” will initially carry supplies alongside platoons in the field. That is really cool, realistically we are living in the future. Pretty amazing. What’s terrifying about this robot is that the master plan, of course I cannot find my source (shut up!) but I read that the robots will ideally be able to “detain persons”. Dozens of these running through the streets chasing people, yep, sounds like a great idea that couldn’t possibly go wrong.

I really dislike everything Nicholas Cage has done minus “Raising Arizona” which is one of my all time favorite comedies, but hearing him tell this story gave him a couple of points in my book. There are videos of the interview in which he stated this, David Letterman, but trust me. It’s alot better reading it that hearing Cage just “phone in” the memory like 99% of his performances. ZING BITCH!

I watched this documentary last week. In all my travels I’ve still never been to Africa, in all honesty Africa scares the shit out of me. Hot, dry, dusty, bugs, fucking lions and a variable mess of Postcolonialism. It’s generally agreed that man came from Africa, the birth of the human race started there. So naturally, white people managed to fuck the place up pretty bad. Between; slavery, colonialism, and Communist/ Capitalist proxy wars the continent is pretty fucked up in most standings.

The film is an incredible documentary, the insight to daily life of Africans in Mugabe’s Zimbabwe is appalling. It’s an incredibly story, showing the insane living environment of Zimbabwe since Mugabe’s rule. The incredible racism and violence towards the Campbell family captured on screen is unsettling and incredible. A great documentary that drops you into a living hell of a country.
